Hello! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a bit about my role here at MTS. My name is Peter Simkins Sluk and I have been hired as the project coordinator for a suicide prevention grant and as a mental health therapist. I will be working closely with school staff, parents, community members, and students to create a robust suicide prevention program. You will be hearing from me a lot as I try to gather input on strengths and needs - it takes a whole community to prevent suicide. I will keep you posted!

A bit about me personally - I was raised in Pittsburgh, PA and in Ohio as the fourth of five children. Ethnically I am a European mutt with my great-grandparents immigrating from Hungry, Ireland, Italy, and Slovakia. I have been living in Seattle for the past eight-years and I am loving the region and all it has to offer. I enjoy backpacking in the amazing parks, I love to tinker with electronics and programming, and I enjoy working on cars. My wife Molly and I have a five-month-old daughter Lucy who I love spending time with. She's growing so fast, it's exciting and a lot of work!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and hold a Master's Degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle. I previously worked with youth in mental health clinics in King and Snohomish counties, I worked in Seattle public schools, and for the past two years I have been a part of the Muckleshoot Behavioral Health Mental Health team. I would like to thank the Tribe and the school for creating this program and for allowing me to be a part of it.

We will be hiring an additional mental health therapist in the 2017-2018 School Year!
